Mariscal at la Pedrera

26 octubre 2010

Mariscal at La Pedrera presents a selection of works produced by Javier Mariscal over a period of 40 years, the last 20 of them in his own studio, the Estudio Mariscal. Mariscal is known worldwide as the designer of Cobi, the Barcelona 92 olympics mascot.

With this exhibition, the CatalunyaCaixa’s Obra Social division hopes to immerse you in the multidisciplinary world of the Mariscal ‘factory’, conveying you into the heart of the creative process and giving you insights, through your own experience, into the vital pulse that drives the work of Javier Mariscal and his team.

The exhibition is divided into six thematic spaces as a way to explain Mariscal’s many facets. Each of these sections contains a series of works that offer the keys to his creative constants. The groups of works reveal his language, his methodology, the nature of his work, his intentions and approaches, as well as the numerous disciplines he pursues. The linear and circular route around the exhibition rooms has structured the discourse of the display, which can be visited as if it were a fairground attraction.

You can find more info about the exhibition and Mariscal in this website.

Remember! If you’re planning to stay in Barcelona after the exhibition, do not hesitate to contact us and enjoy our beautiful rooms, such as Federico García Lorca’s room.
